Mentorship Program
SICLE’s Mentorship Program connects emerging legal professionals with experienced practitioners, fostering professional growth and strengthening the legal community.
Program Goals
- Bridge the gap between legal education and professional practice
- Transfer knowledge and practical skills from experienced to emerging lawyers
- Build professional networks and collegial relationships
- Promote ethical practice and professional standards
- Support career development and specialization decisions
How It Works
Matching: Mentees are paired with mentors based on practice areas of interest, location, and professional goals.
Duration: The formal mentorship period is one year, with opportunities for ongoing relationships.
Meetings: Mentor-mentee pairs meet at least monthly, with additional communication as needed.
Activities: Case discussions, court observations, file reviews, career guidance, networking introductions.
For Mentees
Eligibility: Law graduates within 5 years of admission or law students in their final year.
Commitment: Active participation, preparation for meetings, openness to feedback and guidance.
For Mentors
Eligibility: Licensed lawyers with at least 7 years of practice experience.
Commitment: Regular meetings, sharing of knowledge and experience, support for mentee development.
Recognition: CLE credit for mentorship activities and recognition at SICLE events.
