Refugee Law and Protection

This specialized course provides comprehensive training in refugee law, asylum procedures, and protection mechanisms under both international and Somali legal frameworks.

Course Overview

Participants will gain expertise in:

  • International refugee law and the 1951 Convention
  • Regional protection frameworks in the Horn of Africa
  • Asylum procedures and refugee status determination
  • Rights of refugees and internally displaced persons
  • Durable solutions: voluntary repatriation, local integration, resettlement
