Hassan Farah Warfa is an educator, paralegal, and independent researcher in law and history. He is a Vice President and Professor at the Somali Institute for Continuing Legal Education (SICLE) and a member of the Center for International Education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His work centers on legal history, public records research, and continuing legal education.

Hassan joined SICLE in 1987 as an instructor for the Young Lawyers Course, where he was responsible for developing and implementing curriculum for training young lawyers. His early contributions helped establish the educational foundation that SICLE continues to build upon today.

Early Work at Somali National University

Hassan served as Head of the Audiovisual Aids Department at Somali National University, where he integrated educational media and technology to improve learning outcomes. He also worked as an Educational Researcher and Consultant for USAID, FAO, and the Ministry of Education from 1983 to 1986, conducting major research studies on student learning environments, refugee education, and food security.

With over 30 years of teaching, advising, and mentoring experience across secondary and higher education, Hassan has dedicated his career to student success. He spent over 17 years teaching in Boston Public Schools, working in multicultural, multilingual classrooms. As a lecturer in Education and Student Success, he designed courses and workshops for first-year students on academic skills, cultural awareness, and institutional navigation.

Hassan serves as a Reviewer for the Association for Educational Communications & Technology (AECT). He is also a Co-founder and Board Member of EMPOWERMENT, EDUCATION and DEVELOPMENT, a non-profit organization in Boston, Massachusetts focused on student orientation and cultural adaptation initiatives.

His commitment to intercultural dialogue has led him to participate in forums at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy, where he has contributed to discussions on global education, peacebuilding, and grassroots intercultural exchange.
